A feature that I have come to enjoy on my Alpine is the use of travel presets. As I drive cross country, I can push the travel button and it will reprogram an alternate set of presets without affecting the presets of my hometown. Since the tuner is not available yet I don't know if it has this feature already but I thought I'd mention it because it doesn't seem to hard to add.

Are you asking about Mark 1 or Mark 2?

I just got my Mark 2. No tuners are available yet for it (soon I hope), but I did happen to see some info on this in the manual. It has 3 sets of presets (10 per set). I’ll bet money your alpine did not have 30 presets! I have no idea about the mark 1, all I have is the Mark 2 manual to go by. We will see when they ship…It looks very cool, and I was worried if it would have any presets. :-)

I'll have to say – My wish is that I had a tuner. With no more Howard Stern in the mornings my testosterone level may drop (but my Iq will definitely increase).

Hope this helps.

The tuner is being worked on at this very moment; we're starting to do field testing and are still on schedule for ~6 weeks to production (we hope).

How much are we talkin' here? Actually, the CVA-1000 has 24 + 12 travel stations (36). They are divided into into AM/FM/DAP/travel groups.

A lot of presets doesn't matter to me since I live where there is only about 5 stations.

I just bring it up because instantly autoscanninng and saving presets as you drive from town to town without messing up your hometown presets/order and erasing the old town presets is nice.

Alpines have a lot of presets. I tend to lose track of my presets because of this..

Of course, on the empeg the presets are named, and so should be quite easy to keep track of.

Just to stick up for my Alpine, I can name my presets too and it has a 6.5 lcd inch screen to help me select which one I want.

You better get a car with a double din opening, cause it sounds like you are going to have a hard time giving up that Alpine (and then you wont need an empeg tuner) ;-)
