I tried to build a copy of v435 using the arm toolchain, and I got some errors in /arch/arm/setup.c regarding an unexpected use of the
_16MB #define statement.
When I enabled the .config option for expanded memory support, they went away.
Anyone else tried to build one of these without expanded memory enabled?

Just edit that file, and move the definition of _16MB up 3 lines.

Fixed in Hijack v437.

Cool. Thanks.
I'm building my own kernel images, since I need ext3 support, and the ext3 empeg site tends to have much older versions of Hijack.
If I put my builds on the web, do you want to link to them? I'm not sure how many other people are using ext3..

Not at the moment (very few ext3 users out there), but perhaps someday soon.

Cheers

Hi Defiler,

If you do pop them somewhere, I am interested. My backup empeg is on ext3, but my compiler box is a bit flaky so I just use the ext3 available at the moment which means older hijack versions...and I do like my main empeg to be up to date.

Sorry guys, I'm a slacker. I tend to forget to do ext3 builds unless I'm interested in something new in hijack. Feel free to ping me if the site is out of date and you want a newer version. I've just put up an ext3 build of hijack 437.

Sorry Mike,
I didn't mean to imply you were a slacker at all. If I was in your shoes, I too probably wouldn't update for each hijack release (Mark does get them out with some high frequency) especially if I were busy.

I just appreciate any good things folk do for the empeg

Don't worry, I didn't take it that way And now that I see there is a new empeg alpha out it was definitely time to get updated.
