OK - here's a question.. reading over the www.empeg.com site, I noticed that the empeg has a 1V line input.. does this mean I can't hook up my 4V cd player into it?

You can, but it might be loud and noisy.

Depending on the head unit in question, it MIGHT just work. Then again it might not, in which case you'll need a line level converter.

I saw a message on this board regarding an install to a 99 M3 which said there
are jumpers inside the empeg which change between 4V and 1V. The problem is
I cannot find the message on the board no more so perhaps you need to check
with empeg if this is true. Also note that if you take the unit apart you void
the warranty so you may need to send it to empeg.

Hope this helps,

Dan

I successfully integrated the factory deck/CD changer with the EMPEG. The EMPEG was installed into the glovebox, and the factory deck is going into it. I had to change the jumper from 1V input to 4V, but it works great. I had to install the A/D/S/ P840.2 8 channel amp to run the factory HK speakers, and it sounds better than stock. I do however still have the speaker pop when turning off the car, and when I install the included grounded RCA the system doesn't sound right. So I am going to have to find a different way of taking care of that problem. But other than that, it sounds great. If anyone has any questions, you can privately email me as well.

Thanks Hugo for such a remarkable product.
