Hi,

I'm selling my empeg since it has been unused for years.
Serial number is 030102966.

Box contents:
- Rio car MK2a unit with red lense
- Car sled
- "Rio" remote (couldn't check it, flat battery)
- No HDD. Drive bay, IDE cable and screws for one HDD still there.
- No power supply (see below)

Extra stuff:
- Serial cable for kernel flashing
- Original "empeg" box, looks a bit worn.
(Note: It's a Rio Car unit, but an "empeg" box.
I had an empeg and a Rio Car back in the days)
- Original empeg stickers
- "Empeg car" manual + original software CD
- Two additional IDE cables

Repairs done:
- "Dimmer fix" was applied at empeg Towers during warranty

- IDE connection was flaky. HDD cable was replaced until I had
to send in the unit. It turned out the the IDE connector
had to be resoldered at empeg Towers.
Additional note from empeg support:

"I have replaced the IDE header on the mainboard you returned. Unfortunately
I managed to pull a solder pad off the board when removing the old
connector, however it still makes good contact as the track link was right
next to the pad. Because of this, I will not charge for any labour."

- The plastic front panel had a crack on arrival.
Was replaced, I still have the "spare" one.

- The power supply just went dead -after- taking the picture for the post.
I hooked the empeg up to a proper PSU and it's still working.

Last time I used the unit, it was a diskless NFS client. IIRC the IDE connection
was still unstable so you need to 1. reflash the kernel with a "stock"
Mark lord one and 2. probably fix the IDE connector.

Price is 80 EUR + shipping. Shipping inside Germany is 6 EUR,
Central and Western Europe is probably 20 EUR (depends on destination).

It would be best if you have soldering skills or just look for
replacement parts for your existing unit like a second car sled.

Cheers,
Thomas

Since you don't specifically say: will you ship to the US?
If so I'm interested.

Just checked, shipping to the US via DHL is 34 EUR as we're over the 2kg limit of the cheapest option. Shipping might take two weeks since it's not express.

Customs should be easy as it's "Used audio electronics from the year 1999, mostly non-working" and a value of $100. IIRC you don't have to pay import duty for everything under $200?

The "non-working" part is in there since there's no HDD wink

Since you are probably looking for a VFD:
The VFD is working perfectly and already has the famous "dimmer fix".

If that's fine with you, drop me a PM with the details.
