I dont know if this has been requested or not but I would like to see it. I do realise that to impliment something like this would have to wait for a major software revision.. but hey, I will wait.

I can only guess at the way the current database is designed.. but I would like to see a way to add a song to multiple playlists while only having to upload the song once. Some songs on my empeg fit in more than one playlist.. and the song is taking up disk space twice.

For the sake of example, lets call each song upload a record in a database. Would it not be simple enough to have a field in each record of the database for each playlist? That way when I upload a song, I could flag each playlist I want the song to appear in.. and only have the song uploaded once.

I do see that it would be hard to add a playlist field to each record later on.. but there is bound to be some solution to this issue, isn't there?

Greetings!

Uh, that is already there. In emplode, you can upload the song, and then drag the song (holding down the control key) to drop it into another list. Done. You will see a little "+" sign as you drag it. Just like Windows 2000... Only 1 copy is uploaded, but you can move or delete these pointers independently. When the last one is removed, the file is deleted.

In addition to this, if you copy a playlist around you only have to modify the playlist contents and all the other copies are updated.

I hope you haven't sent duplicate songs to the empeg. I have started copying songs from the original album into soundtrack albums if there are the same version. This maximises the space while still giving you all the songs. It does affect tweak order things tho.

This is covered pretty specifically in the FAQ.

You might want to spend a few minutes and dig through the FAQ. Maybe there's other nuggets of helpful information in there?

Yeah, I see it now. Ooops!

By nature, I am one of those guys that gets it home and takes it out of the box, plugs it in and turns it on without ever reading the instructions.. nothing wrong with playng with it to figure it out except that I always seem to miss something like that in the documentation.
