I am dying to know....
did you guys write a Xfree86 driver for your display/driver combo? are you running X for the display?
I am itching to try and see if xmap from mayko would give me navigational mapping or if I need to convert my wearable computers grid location system to the empeg when I can buy one.

Give us the dirt! how'd ya do it...

The display is handled by a kernel device driver that allows user processes to mmap(2) it. I doubt that modifying the frame-buffer X server to work with it would be too difficult - but probably a rather pointless. Whilst I have heard stories of X servers that work on dumb terminals at 80x25, the empeg screen size of 128x32 is rather smaller than most X applications assume.

I may not be speaking on behalf of empeg above :-)
