I'm having a bit of a clearance issue with my chosen method of mounting my Mk2a unit, and the pan head screws that are located on the side of the unit itself. Looking at the unit from the side there are four fairly small pan head screws on each side. The first two are very close to the front of the unit, and are not a problem. The other two are getting in the way when attempting to dock the unit in the docking sled. My questions is this, does anyone know where I can get some flat head replacement screws for these four screws? (two for each side.) I'm sure this would resolve me problem.

Thanks!

From measuring it, it looks to be a M2 thread (standard, 0.4mm pitch), 4 mm long.
I don't think they make a M2F (fine thread), but I'd wait for confirmation from the empeg guys first as to exactly what it is.

Might be hard to source locally in the US, though a large industrial supply house or a place like http://www.mcmaster.com probably carries it.

I'm assuming you have brackets screwed to the sled - you could reposition the screws holding bracket and sled together, by drilling new holes in a position unaffected by the screws in question...

I wish I had the option of repositioning the mounting bolts. The mounting brackets for my car require that it be mounted exactly as it is. I have tried to countersink the bolts as best I can, but there is still a little bit of clearnce issues. Thank you very much for the info. I will check out the web site you mentioned.

Shouldn't be too hard to find them over here in Europe (though probably not in your normal neighbourhood hardware store - they seem more intent on selling hair curlers and waffle irons than the small useful stuff) so let me know if you can't locate any and I'll see if I can dig some up and send across the pond...

I apprecaite the offer. I ended up just grinding the heads of the problem bolts down until it clears OK. Works fine now. Thank you again for the assistance.

I hope you don't ever have a problem with your hard drive cables (not an uncommon occurrence) because you will have to be able to remove those screws in order to get access to the drive cable where it connects to the motherboard. Those screws are tight, and if you have thinned down the heads you may not be able to get a screwdriver to grip them hard enough to remove them.

Actualy I had previously lossened all four of them before I ground them down. I made sure to leave enough of the head there so that I could still remove them if necessary. Again thanks for the input though. That is good info to have.
