I'm looking for people to test releases of the Java implementation of Emplode/Emptool. I'd like to have one person on each of the major platforms that would be willing to run through the product at each release to make sure nothing has been broken on his/her platform.

Any volunteers would be appreciated!

Thanks
Mike

Seems to work ok on Win2K, I have added, deleted, changed ID tags, but not able to connect via com1 to config the player. But ethernet capability works good, but not able to config, perhaps due to the switched environment I am in.

Good job!

When you say you can't connect over COM1, are you using the developer jar (just downloading jempeg-0.9.14.jar) or did you use the actual installer... If you just grabbed the jar, you will also need to get javax.comm (the serial port communications api). If you used the installer and it still does not work, then I'll look into that one further... Could be a problem with javax.comm on w2k.

Thanks for trying it out...

Mike

I used the installer but with 9.13.jar, so that I guess is my problem! But I like my unit the way it is, other than my other post (Simple PPP install), so I have no use for the com method, yet. I will try the 9.14.jar, and see what happens.

sorry for the confusion -- 0.9.14 doesn't really change much from 0.9.13 (and it just appeared today), so it probably won't help. It must be something with javax.comm on w2k. I'll check into it.

Sure, no hurry though. I do recall a problem someone else had with serial port speed settings, something about the port is at 9600, but the software set to anything else, and yadda yadda. But I was able to update my kernel and hyperterm into my empeg on Win2K (vie Emplode). so I think it just might be an isolated incident.
Let me know what you find, it will be nice to get PPP running my my empeg, then ftp up Jemplode, and when I visit another site, ftp down and move/add/change my files, regardless of environment.
