I like this setup a lot. For maximum stealth the stock head unit is used, with the empeg's output routed to the CD changer input. The amp remote line on the empeg triggers a relay which switches out the CD changer whenever the empeg is turned on.

Currently I'm using the remote. It works okay; the hard part is navigating playlists while moving, since the display is tough to see while watching the road. I typically don't change playlists while moving, just forward and shuffle.

I am working on a small remote display and button panel. It will get done eventually.

Glovebox installs seem like a great solution for cars with integrated factory stereos. I hope the remote display project picks up enough to make this more feasible. Imagine going into stealth mode by simply removing the remote display that's suction-cupped to your dashboard.
