windows xp issue - 15/10/2002 17:51
ok...running windows xp
running version 2.0 B13
running emplode ..all is fine
downloading songs...gets hung up when 'retrieving database'
(more than 5 min)
must go to task manager to shut down emplode
restart emplode but get the following message:
'the player appears to be no longer connected'
take a look at the player and it does not show 'syncronising' on the display, but instead shows a song playing
.....this has been an ongoing issue with xp for me that has only recently started
any suggestions
thanks
Ed

I got the same message once. I was running ethernet. I rebooted and hadnt had the problem again. It does seem weird though...

I've had the same issue once or twice on my XP system.
Mind you this was before I put XP SP1 on, so who knows, I've not need to sync since, so it may be busted now [like lots of things are with XP SP1].
I use Ethernet - a Dlink 10/100 mbs Etherswitch.
I've never used USB for this.
I also run the latest 2.0 B13 software plus Hijack [newest or pretty up to date at least] versions of software, and of course my emplode if B13 as well.
I did find that restarting Emplode did "reconnect" correctly & sync up again ok.

I must say I have had that same problem as well.. I am also running XP and b13 as well. Unfortunately, I haven't resolved it yet either..
Anyone know what's up? Other than Microsoft releasing quality (heh) software?

I've found that starting Emplode, and THEN plugging in the usb to the player seemed to work. If I start Emplode with the usb already connecting, I'll get the same problem you described. *shrug*
I haven't bothered with ethernet yet.

Rojo, I believe they are talking about ethernet. Your USB problem is a known bug, covered
here.
