wendy filter question. - 20/10/2002 23:38

A few questions really..

1. Is it possible to flag an entire playlist with a wendy filter?
So that the name of the artist wouldn't even show up in the playlist selection screen? (assuming an Artist/Album/Song playlist format)

2. And if those files that were filtered out with one filter, happen to be the only songs preferred by another filter, and I select that filter; is there any way to "link" the filter to the playlist? So that when I select that filter it automatically starts playing songs that are "available" to the current filter?
(instead of having to then load a playlist that actually contains music that is playable by that filter.)

3. Can you make the empeg save the current filter for the next boot up? So if I turn off the car with one filter, it will be on that same filter the next time I turn it on? (maybe this is already there be default, i dunno.. )

1. No. Long story.
2. No. Not yet, anyway.
3. This is a bug -- it ought to save it already. In fact, the bug database claims it was fixed 2002-03-12. Are you saying that it's still broken?

It was still broken in beta 13, but has really been fixed since (bug 1856).

    1. No. Long story.
I'm sure that this is the same question and same long story, but, right behind getting changing playlists to work when filters are active, my favorite filter wish is to get playlists whose entire contents have been filtered out to disappear from the playlists menu altogether.

So, it has already been fixed, but we have to wait for the next beta release, correct?

I imagine there have been discussions of this before, would you mind pointing me in the right direction to read up on it? I tried searching, but there are a freaking ton of wendy filter threads

I don't think that you can read up on it. None of the discussion occurred in public. However, it did occupy about 5 of us for the best part of an afternoon trying to figure out how to make it work efficiently.
