Since the tuner module is going to be late anyway, will it be able to receive AM broadcasts as well, or are you still sticking to the FM only tuner?

Will there be support in the software to assign station names or call letters? Kind of a nice feature which most modern-day receivers support...

That's already in the software. I do that on my mark 1.
