1200 or 1400 Pelican case - 25/05/2003 06:29

I know either will do, but do some 1200 cases risk damaging the screen due to screws on the inside?

I have a 1200 case and no, I don't see any risk to screen damage. The only screw on the inside is for the air seal. It stick out about 1/8" which is covered by 3/4" of padding. When placing the Empeg in the case, it sits with rear of the Empeg to the front of the case so the screw really isn't an issue.

I do wish I would have gotten the 1400 though. I don't have enough room for a power supply unless I jam in on top of the Empeg case.

I'm very happy with my 1400. My empeg sits sideways on one side, in a pocket that's about half the depth of the foam. On the other side is a full depth pocket that holds my power supply, empeg remote, a 6 foot patch cable, an 1/8" stereo plug adapter, and the faceplate to my CD receiver. This allows me to use it just about anywhere I go.

I've seen no problem with it for the about 2 years I've been using the 1200. And I have the empeg oriented with the fascia towards the handle and only one "line" of foam betwen the empeg and the case... It would be even safer to rotate it 180 degrees, but I haven't bothered.
