Hijack upgrade...

Hijack upgrade... - 26/08/2003 14:13

Okay I have a few questions on the Hijack upgrade...

First off, there's some functionality I would like that can only be added through the hijack upgrade.. however I like default empeg/rio (2.13b) menus.

How dramitically does it change the empeg menus? and how easy is it for me to rollback and remove the hijack upgrade if I decide I don't like it?

it wont change your menus. i think you just reinstall 2.13 if you want to remove hijack.

You shouldn't be using 2.0 beta 13, you should be using 2.0 final. Unless you have a specific reason for using beta 13.

Like he said, it doesn't change the empeg menus, it has its own separate menu to access its features. And to get rid of it, you can either apply another software upgrade, or you can apply the "stock" kernel-only file from Mark's site.

Thanks for the reply. Everything seem to work out fine. Cept, I ran into the 2.00b11 (favorite visual bug) problem, and spent most of the night waiting for emplode to "check disk integrity" but after that processed, it created a fresh new config.ini and everything worked out well.. I got hijack configured and all is good.

Though I do have one more question.. can I change back the boot-logo animation back to the RIO or something else? I don't dislike the hijack animation, but I'd like to change it.

Yeah. There's a boot logo collection over at riocar.org. The original boot logo is in there somewhere.

As Bitt, said, there's the collection over there on Riocar.org. The original Rio animation is this one, and the original Empeg animation is this one. The instructions to install them are here.
