What software do you use to stream from your Empeg - 18/09/2003 02:22

Hi,

What software do you use to stream from your empeg ?

I used to use WInamp 2, although i found this somewhat unreliable, as sometimes there were breaks in the stream, or a total loss of connection.

I want to leave my Empeg in the Mlord Docking Station downstairs in the hi-fi rack, and stream music via ethernet to the PC upstairs. It would need to be simple so that SWMBO could use it. I don't have a very good computer (433 w 256mb),and it doesn't have the HD space to store all the tunes.

Generally I use WMP 9, so it would be great if there was a way of using WMP 9 to stream the tunes. Otherwise i'm open to ideas.

I also have PCDJ which grreat for mixing MP3s but i'm sure it's a pipe dream to be able to stream these of the empeg straight through the computer.

Any advise very welcome.!

I was using WinAmp 3 but found the lack of features as compared to WinAmp 2 and buggyness annoying. So I switched to WinAmp 2.9 - which is actualy newer than WinAmp 3 - and it's worked great.

Re: Ignore this -- testing an internet connection. - 22/09/2003 18:53

This is just a test to see if my internet connection is running at a proper speed.

Sorry for the clutter...

I could probably find a web-ad or two with the solution to this.

Speaking of... have you considered using a tabbed browser?
