Something you might want to consider....

The gray values that come out on the empeg screen aren't evenly distributed. I've noticed your logos have the color reduction done in such a way as to depend upon the two middle shades of gray being pretty far apart. For example, the Z06 logo has values of 0 134 189 255, whereas the actual values presented on the empeg screen are closer to 0 80 96 255.

The result is that you're probably loading the logos onto the player and wondering why they don't look as good on the empeg screen as they do in GIF format.

What control do you have over the color reduction palette in your software?

Then again, if you like the way these are coming out, more power to ya.

Wait, hang on a bit. That z06 logo changes palette during playback, those values were only for one of the frames.

If you're going to color reduce to four colors, it needs to be the same four colors for the whole animation

Doesn't matter if you get a neat looking fade in the GIF preview, the empeg can't display all those shades and the colors get mangled when imported...

Thanks for the info tony.
I've been experimenting with process of creating the logos. I made a color profile to match the colors from jemplode's Animation editor palette.
Here is the Z06 using those colors.

Aside from the frame delay times, is this more empeg friendly?

Your welcome.
You'll notice the animation may be a bit fast on the empeg.
If you like, I can remove any of the four parts to extend a part before the fade in/out. That way you get to see the image longer before the fading.

Hope that makes sense.

Yup, that's the right palette.

The tough part is that the dark gray and the light gray are nearly indistinguishable from each other when played back on the empeg screen. But if you're working with that palette in your editor program, you can at least control the dithering and color reduction directly.
