OT: Contract SysAdmin available - 25/08/2000 05:28

Hi, guys --

No, I don't usually post this sort of thing to mailinst lists or BBSs, but I thought that this group might have a particularly good chance of generating a contact, so out of hiding I come. [ObEmpeg: No, I don't have one yet; I'm limited to having MP3s on about 35 CDs with a healthy "current mix" on my laptop. Someday...]

I'm a *NIX (mostly Solaris) Systems Administrator and Network Engineer, and I'm contract hunting for a long-term gig as my current one winds down. I can go anywhere in the US and would consider international postings as well. For all the details, surf on over to

and check out the 30-second info sheet as well as, possibly, a resume.

So, does anyone out there know of an opportunity for a great SysAdmin? TIA!

So let's see, you're so desparate for a job that you'd be willing to risk ticking off a bunch of car audio buffs/mp3 geeks, eh? Not too smart...

(must not live in Silicon Valley where contracts grow on trees)

Hi, mcgrant

Desperate? No, but looking around. Willing to risk ticking off a bunch of folks much like me? Sure; there's risk in everything. In Silicon Valley? No, actually, and just because contracts grow on trees doesn't mean that they're easy to get for someone not in the area and without contacts, nor does it mean that they're all lucrative.

Sorry for bothering you.

You want to say there are actually trees in Silicon Valley?
