Best Lens for BMW "Orange" ?? - 25/10/2004 16:29

Seeing as lens availability has changed a bit over the past few years, what's the current best match for the instrument lighting in 92-98 BMW 3-series (like the 328 or 325)?

I've heard it "used" to be the original empeg red lens, but can't find any pictures of current lenses that give true (enough) representation of the colour.

Any info will be a great help. I'll continue to use blue after installing if I don't get a new lens, but I'd rather have a matching dash.

I don't know about the new kinds, but just to reiterate what's already been said, the original red is an excellent match. I've been happy with it even though it's worse than the others at dealing with glare.

Generally speaking, I'd buy the rainbow set and play arounf with those. You can get virtually any color there. I've obtained several different oranges.

I was looking at the rainbow set last night... See, for $50 I'd want a few more sets of the clear front/back pieces so I could put a new set on my other empeg as well. Or just a few gels as I don't in fact need a whole rainbow. I just need the red and orange ones.
