Oh why oh why can't someone add MP3gain or replaygain support to the empeg ?

this really is the one feature that would make my life ( at least while driving ) complete.

I really don't feel like re ripping 40GB of mp3's and i can't stand the voladj way ( shiver ) .

Please can someone add this, surely it can't be very hard. As far as i know most of the hooks are already in hijack to do this

mp3gain will retag without you needing to rerip, so your constraint is satisfied by merely reuploading

IIRC, people tried just having the "tags" mp3gain updated and it didn't do anything on the empeg.

Isn't this sort of thing on the emphatic to-do list?

Sorry, not the RVA2 tagging, but the bit where it readjusts the volume level from each frame, and puts the relative adjustment in an "undo" tag in the file.

Right, and it apparently didn't work. I only remember one person trying and reporting and he said it didn't do a thing. I always meant to test it out, but I've got new music I haven't even loaded yet.
