Ripping CD's To MP3's????????? - 23/12/2004 18:25

How do most Empeg users get their CD's transfered to MP3's? For example does anyone Rip their CD's using real player or Winamp or someother software? I've tried using audiograbber with lame installed then tried to listen to an mp3 created by audiograbber with winamp but it won't play it. What is the preferred mwthod? Thanks in advance!

Most of us use EAC with LAME, but it can be a little complex. I'd try to figure out what's going wrong with your AudioGrabber first, at least. Are you getting an error of some nature?

EAC with Lame if you want MP3's. I rip mine to Flac using EAC and use Foobar2000 to convert them to OGG or MP3 depending on the player I want to put the songs on.

There is a section in Brad's empeg sound guide on ripping CDs to MP3s with EAC.

Gallagher, please make sure to have a scan through this, especially the bits about tagging.

I'm guessing something is wrong with your LAME install, then. If done properly, what you just described should work.
