Replacement Display Needed

Replacement Display Needed - 02/01/2008 14:53

Happy New Year!

Does anyone have a spare replacement display for the MkII that they would be willing to sell? Deadsled13 really needs one bad. I did have one but I sold it with the Rio. Paul, if you're reading this, do you still have any left?

Thanks!

Opps, I see that this has already been discussed recently. Just trying to help.

Hi.
This thread brings to mind the following. In clearing out the loft over the christmas period, I have found a number (>10, certainly, but I'm not sure how many in total) of MK1 display boards complete with VFDs. As far as I know they work perfectly (this could easily be tested) and the VFDs could be unsoldered easily enough and reused. If I was to offer these for sale, would anyone be interested? And if so, what would be a good price? IE, what will the market bear smile

Just a clarification note to anyone reading this thread, Patrick said MK1.

The MK1 and MK2 display boards and VFDs are not compatible with each other as far as I know.

Actually, as I recall they are. The VFD is definitely the same. The MK2/a boards differed from the MK1 versions in being smt rather than trhough-hole, and having the rotary control, different psu circuit, etc. Functionally they're compatible as far as I can remember. I'd have to check my notes to be absolutely sure.

The VFD can be transplanted from a MK1 to a MK2 board just by unsoldering and resoldering. Fiddly but not difficult.

If I remember rightly the sort of price the last batch went for was something around $100.
