Hijack v103 and Button 4

Just installed Latest Version of Hijack.

Button 4 on the Rio Remote pops the QuickTimer. Probably useful as of course there is no functionality tied to this button.

However, when in Search by Title, the Quick Timer still kicks in when hitting Button 4 meaning that g,h,i cannot be used in any searches. Real Pain !

Can anyone help ?

Button 4 is use to mark a track (using 2.00b7). Installed v103 of Hijack afterwards, and button 4 functionality is retained, i.e. I can do searches and it doesn't pop the QuickTimer

Am I missing something somewhere.

I just used Emplode b7, to put back the base version of Dev b7 for the player. Then added v103 of Hijack and it still does the same ?

Do I need to downgrade, then upgrade, then add Hijack? And can I do the downgrade and upgrade both from b7 of Emplode ?

Try getting it back down to 1.03, then upgrade to 2.00b7. You should ensure that everything works ok (including the 4 button) beofre uploading Hijack using LogoEdit's kernel flash utility

Maybe it should be made even more clear in the FAQ that up/down-grading complete empeg SW and uploading a kernel are two very different things. I see that several users have it mixed up.

I have downgraded to b3 and the 4 button worked fine.

Upgraded to b7 and 4 button still worked fine,

Added Hijack v103 and the Quick Timer kicks in again when searching.

I'm using the Rio Remote and its a Mk2a not other patches applied

Please help ... realistically I only want to use VolAdj with the Menu Options switchable Off, Low, Medium, High. The rest of the facilties I can manage without for now.

How did you upload Hijack onto your eMpeg?

Using the Kernal Flash Utility in LogoEdit.

Everything else in Hijack seems to work fine apart from this one annoyance.

Total voodoo now, but I would downgrade to 1.03 first and then upgrade to 2.00b7 (consumer). Generally you shouldn't use beta software when trying to iron out problems.

I've just upgraded to the latest Hijack (v103) and I'm getting exactly the same symptoms, Quicktimer pops up when entering search criteria using the '4' button.

which remote are you using? Kenwood or Rio?

Rio, but I've just tried it with the Kenwood and it does the same.

Button 4 now works as expected in searches.
