Thought you all might like to see my install. - 19/03/2002 13:47

I just finished it this weekend. I refabricated the clock pod in my 2000 Eclipse. Sorry to point y'all over to my forum, but, hey, I'm a pretty important guy over there. Enjoy!

Wow! That is pretty nice. I knew the clock module was good for something after all. ;-) It would be cool if you motorized it and made it rise up and down out of the dash. LOL.

Looks like a spaceship!

You should put up a gallery at RioCar.org. It is free.

The Alpine CDA-7878 is there as the command unit for the entire A/V system. Everything runs to a versatile link terminal, and I can then select any source to play directly through the head unit. The unit below the Alpine is a DVD/ Multimedia player and is routed to the visor screens and (immediate future, as in, I already have them, just haven't had the gumption to install them) headrest screens. The A/V system is controlled by a Clarion MSS-7100 video controller and plays through AUX 1 on the Alpine. The RioCar plays through AUX 2 on the Alpine. XM is installed, as is a CD changer (old... WAY before the MK2.. or even MK1.. it just keeps on going ) This way, all the music and sound has the same curve, digital time correction, and enhancements across multiple platforms. The ability to set the RioCar to fix 0dB is something VERY cool when integrating a system like this. There's two last components to add to the system.. a game console and a DVD changer... I'm getting rid of the in-dash DVD unit. After that, the A/V system is all done.

Sorry for my run-on, but I love car audio. It's what I do for relaxation.

I am currently thinking about buying a 7878 to process my signal. I am curious as to how the volume on the Alpine works on the Aux in. I have a copy of the manual and it says that you have to go through to the menu to get to aux in order to change the volume on it. Is this just to set the input gain and then just use the volume to adjust output to next piece in chain?

you need some differnt color screens, i bet the green would look good to match your 7878

It's definatley not stock color. Stock color is beige/ black. I'm in the process of recoloring the interior.

DBALKUNJR,
I'm afraid I'm not understanding what you are asking. Let's say I am talking about the MK2 going into the 7878. The output is set at 0dB (flat). Then, in turn you select the Auxilliary channel you wnat to listen to (there's 2 of them) and whatever you have hooked up to that channel plays through it.... just like any other Auxillary in. On the Versatile link terminal, there are even gains. It's a very tidy way to integrate everything.

justinlarsen,
There's enough blue on the 7878 to match the MK2. Green might look nice, but then the blue on the Alpine would look out of place.

Deadcow,

Can you PM me and explain to me how you went about coloring the interior?
