IRC channel for empeg discussion..

I've started an empeg discussion channel on the IRC network I lurk on. I looked around and didn't see any past efforts to have a real-time chat setup for empeg talk, so I figured i'd go ahead and make it happen. It's a stable IRC network that has been alive (albeit, small) for about 6 years. All unix geeks, a couple of empeg owners Anyways, everyone is welcome!

here's the info: irc.wasteland.org (round robin dns to multiple servers) and the channel is #empeg

There are already other efforts underway for empeg IRC channels, on different servers. There was an efnet #empeg channel, and also a more recent one on irc.openprojects.net for which we even implemented a knowledge bot named Sanders.

The problem with doing this is getting everyone to settle on one server/network/channel. There was talk of including IRC built into Jemplode and having it hard-code the server so that everyone would be on the same channel and it would be permanent. So far, that hasn't happened.

for convenience sake, i have put a java interface to the efnet channel #empeg on my website...

any of you that for one reason or another have not accessed or cannot access irc by other means should give this a try...

Here's the problem with the efnet channel:
