I don't know what the heck is the matter with people. I'm not going to send this thing overseas and wait forever to be paid! If anyone in the US is interested please let me know.

Yeah, what is it with foreigners? Why don't they all just move to America like the rest of us?

Luckily the guys at empeg didn't have similar views.

I really don't know what the heck is the matter with you.
Why should you have to wait forever to get paid just because the buyer isn't from the US? I didn't ever have a problem getting my money to the seller fast (through paypal mostly) if the seller was in the US. If you don't like paypal, there is still the possibility to send money orders (which is actually pretty fast, even from Europe) or use one of the auction paying services.
I didn't ever have a problem receiving the goods from an american seller either.
Oh, and the whole thing is also true for the opposite situation (me as a seller, american as a buyer).
But I'm not interested in your unit anyway.

regards,
sven

I don't feel like waiting for escrow as well as shipping times for money orders and sending the unit. Plus for some countries there are duty hassles on the other person's end. If a person wants to do Paypal via a wire transfer and has a confirmed shipping address I'll gladly sell it to them. Either way it's my choice who I sell to and I'd choose not to sell to you based on attitude anyway!

hey! hey! relay everybody!
we do not get angered about this - bu xpyder- you should think about the situation those from outside the u.s. are.
how would you feel sending money around the globe and not knowing if you receive anything in return. not to mention the worries about "is this damn thing broken when it arrives" and stuff. anyone of us non-us-residents want their empeg too and we put a great effort into getting one - but what is more important is that we need respectful and trustworthy sellers - and they should at least care about the situation that most of all empegs went to the us and we take all that trouble and effort on us to get one.

sorry for my bad english. cya!

Re: 10GB MK2a FS - 29/07/2002 22:37

I understand but I too want to be sure I get paid and in a timely manner. If someone other than me cares to go through the challenges than my hat's off to him/her. But for my time and already spent money I'd like to make sure I can complete a transation or just keep the darn thing in case I drop one or it breaks down on me.

I'll keep that in mind if you ever need out of warranty service.. it could be a real hassle for us to deal with a foreigner like you!

Re: 10GB MK2a FS - 30/07/2002 05:48

based on attitude anyway

Um, who's got the attitude here? It amazes me that you decide to bump your own thread by insulting 1/2 of this board's membership based on where they live and the other 1/2 of this board's membership based on their friendship w. the prior.

And if you can get your money faster than the time you've spent dragging your own thread through the mud (via PayPal or International Money-Order), what differance would it make to you if it took 8 weeks to get to someone's doorstep?

For the record, I've gotten goods shipped faster to me from empeg in the UK than I have from PC companies located in California.

We did, but you kicked us out, so you really have to ponder why we like you so much!

Re: 10GB MK2a FS - 30/07/2002 08:03

ROFLMAO. Point to me where I insulted anyone based upon their living in another country? If I choose not to sell an item because of the hassles in dealing with money, shipping, etc... that's a personal decision not an insult. While you may not agree with that decision it does not denigrate anyone because of where they live nor does it do so to others who have befriended them on this board. But for you I would strongly recommend that you relax and go get laid. This is the internet and to get personally offended by someone you don't even know takes it a bit to far in my opinion.

As for kicking the British out that is true! LOL The "Commonwealth" was once quite a bit bigger than it is today. But then again the most solid relationships that exist are those by members of the ABCA (America, Britain, Canada, and Australia) treaty.

I'm optimistic that my EMPEGs won't require warranty service. But hey if they do I'll get to deal with shipping hassles as well. Wouldn't that be fitting? LOL

Yep, you'll have to put up with that 10:30am next morning Europe to USA FedEx service that we use!

For anyone that has never had to ship an empeg back, they are very quick about turnaround. My time without an empeg when my Mark 1 failed was only a few days. My time without an LCD monitor recently was 2.5 weeks, and the shipping involved in that was from Kansas, the next state over from Colorado.

It's sad when my best example of service is with a company 7 timezones away. Because of the service, I had no problems with plopping down $1200 again for my Mark 2.

Seriously folks, the unit is sold now anyway. But after considering what some had to say here I realize the error of my ways and next time I'll gladly sell to anyone that drives on the "right" side of the road! LOL

Hi - sorry to butt in on the conversation! I live in the UK and want to buy an empeg. What if I paid you first? Would that be acceptable?

Re: 10GB MK2a FS - 30/07/2002 19:06

It would be if I didn't locate someone nearby that wants my second spare. If I decide to rid myself of the other spare (which I may need to do since I just spent some bucks on a tube headphone amp and HD600s) I would do that. I'll let you know if I decide to sell the other spare.
