Empeg MK 1 sled - 11/12/2002 08:01

Hi,

I've a brand new MK1 sled that I guess I'll never use, it's new in the original box with stickers etc. Price will depend on destination location and interest.

How is that different from the MK2 sled?

Re: Empeg MK 1 sled - 11/12/2002 12:23

the MK1 sled has a differant connector (with fewer contacts) than the MKII, also the connector is in a differant place (center of the unit rather than the left edge on the MKII).

There may be other differances but that is more than enough for them not be directly interchangable.

Very different. Compare the back of this Mk1 to an Mk2/2a:

Haha, but it's still an empeg, in all it's greatness. Like the MKI owners say, "MKI: still going strong!"

Be aware that this item is possibly the rarest and least replaceable item in the entire empeg universe.

You should have no problem getting an absurd amount of money for it!

Gee thanks. Now those of us who might be interested are going to have to pay that absurd amount of money for it

Aren't the mk 1 docking connectors fairly standard parts you can get and use to make your own docking sled using just about any ancient pull-out radio? Or was that one person who just go lucky in finding a usable sled?

Well, there's a difference between "usable" and "ideal"...

Yeah, a properly-modified He-Man lunch box is "usable." And so is a Neo, technically...

How much would you want for it and to ship it to the USA?

Yup. Just as I thought. You're not from the U.S.

Hi,

Offers by private mail please, shipping to the states can't be too much, it doesn't weigh that much. I imagine 15-20 UKP to ship anywhere in the USA? I'll confirm exact shipping costs when someone makes me a realistic offer.

Regards,

John
