For sale - EMPEG x1 - UK

Hi there, finally getting around to selling my old EMPEG. I can't seem to find the drivers for my pc to let me clear the tunes and my details off the machine though.

I believe it's a MK2. I have put it on Ebay. I will ship it anywhere if the postage is right.

Hi, i'm having problems with the PC when it locates the EMPEG. The player works fine, but when i attach it to the PC, it doesnt find the drive. I installed "car-emplode-v2.00" but still nothing. Any ideas on the drivers I need, so I can find out how big the HD is etc?

Serial port. Use the null-modem cable that came with it. There should be a ton of output at boot time, describing the hardware etc..

there isnt a serial input on the back of my pc, when i plug the empeg in it cant find any drivers and fails to appear, even thoughemplode is installed

The Empeg doesn't actually appear as a drive. You need to use the Emplode software to load music onto it and do stuff with it. Download http://www.empeg.com/downloads/car-emplode-v2.00.zip and open the zip. The USB driver is in that zip, so make sure you have that installed correctly. Once that is done, load up Emplode and then you can poke around.

Still no joy, I have installed Emplode, plug in the drive and it doesnt find it, so I am still unable to get into the player. thanks

Try opening device manager (Windows+Pause/Break, Device Manager in Windows 7, Windows+Pause/Break, Hardware, Device Manager in XP). See if any funky 'no driver' yellow question mark devices exist in the list. Also worth seeing if the Empeg appears in there anywhere. Try updating the driver and forcing the driver to be the one in the Emplode zip that you downloaded.

Or, of course you could just give up on USB. Plug the Empeg into your switch/router and see if Emplode finds it over the network.

When you search for empeg, ebay think's it's being clever, and changes it to ampeg, or mpeg. Very annoying.

What's the score with this one now, and where are you? If your stuck, and nearby i can have a look for you.
