Purchasing a Empeg mk2a?

I have been searching and the best price I have been able to find for one of these units/kits is at carplayer.com is this the best I can do?

I know they are well worth the money and I hope I don't sound like I'm being cheap but I just figured i'd ask just to see if this was the cheapest?

PS: I'm looking for a 10 or 20gb unit, depending on price.

You can take a chance on ebay but I found you can usually get a cheaper price at carplayer.com. I just ordered a 10 gig
(just to get the unit) and later I'll drop an extra 30-40 gig drive in it.......

how much is carplayer charging?

yah i just noticed that.. oh well did you really expect anything different? i was set to order a backup at $299 but that was my limit for a 10 gig.. so much for that idea.. i guess i have to pray that mine doesn't poop out.

I placed an order a few days ago at $379 and ordered the screen kit as well but was told they were sold out of those, and could I please resubmit my order (netting them $10 extra!). I've now seen those cool neon effect ones now which I will get. Never mind, still a bargain even if it is a lot more than during the sell-off when I was pursuing a custom MP3 system which I have now abandoned - this is much neater.

Haha, damn, 10gig Mk2a on carplayer is $499 now.. keeps going up. I don't feel so bad for having shelled out $350 for it
