You can get a very good separate CD/Tuner headunit for
that kind of money... some people seem to have more money than brain...

and that would be all you get, a CD/Tuner headunit and you would still not have an Empeg/Rio car. Supply/demand says they are worth it hence the price.

Got my new Empeg & Tuner. I bought it, I love it, and I don't regret it. Life is too short to settle for 2nd best or a POS japanese cd player that skips, can only play 20 songs before it repeats or has a crappy aftermarket, poor excuse for a 1-Bit DAC found in every fisher-price taiwanese knock off player. Oh that right... its got a tuner. What was I thinking...
