Ricer Alphabet

Ricer Alphabet - 15/11/2002 21:34

(and i really hate to call them "ricers" because of the nationalistic derogatory connotations, but, oh well).

Ok, spinning off the Ricefield discussion, I've been pondering something for a while. Do ricers have some kind of "High Performance Alphabet" or something?! Seriously, certain letters must just give you more low-end torque or something. Some examples:

R: Acura RSX, Suburu WRX
S: See Acura RSX, anything with Type-S in it,
GT: Mitsubishi 3000GT, Mustang GT

And it gets worse! As if one R or one S didn't entitle you to a big enough rear spoiler, some cars have TWO of said power letter. Examples:

Acura RSX Type-S
Jaguar XKR with R Specs (forgive me for slandering Jag, but it does have dual-R's)
and my favorite
Mercedes Bens AMG CLK-GTR

But what others letters give you better acceleration? And where are they used? And what is the order of the high performance alphabet, assuming that the most bitchin'est letters come first?

Personally, I'd love to add one of the lesser high performance letters to my Volvo V70. The M. The "M" of Benz M Class fame and BMW M1, M3, M5 fame. Yes, a nice, metallic, Volvo font M to put on the back next to my V70 to show the world that I have the ultimate performance part; a manual transmission.

I - rarely touted anymore, but possibly the biggest factor in the smoothness of power delivery in any of todays cars.

...forgive me for slandering Jag...

You mean "libeling."

HA! Beat Bitt to it.

Actually, I think it should technically be "maligning."

Bitt?

I always loved the "Kompressor" on various Mercedes cars...sounds much sexier than "turbocharged" in a kinda robotic teutonic sense.

Doesn't libel require some sort of print media? I would think the bbs would qualify more as a private conversation in a public place with the aid of technology....

Yeah, that's where I was a little unclear, which is why I said it might be "maligned." Guess Bitt is going to have to clear that one up...

Slandering must be better because it has both an S and an R.

ninti: HAhahaha, that's the spirit.

I'm still looking for a car with three of the same rice letters in it. Acura NSX Type S with S specs? Mercedes AMG M-class with M rated tires?

Do they get R.S.I. from using these letters?

Repetitive Strain Injury?

Re: Ricer Alphabet - 17/11/2002 10:41

Well, this one's pretty much a look-it-up-in-the-dictionary, but since I've been referenced multiple times, I might as well do it for you.

slander: a false and defamatory oral statement about a person

libel: a statement or representation published without just cause and tending to expose another to public contempt

However, any legal definition is going to have to define ``published'', which I'm not qualified to do in such a context.
