Not as deceptive as others, but still a crappy thing to do. I like how the seller is only offering 9 of these guides. I guess the Xerox at Kinkos only had 9 sheets of paper in it that day.

I wonder who's image he is linking to? Wouldn't it be a shame if the image suddenly changed to something more appropriate???

Don't know if it really belongs to someone else or, in that case, if the owner could change it.

So did we ever decide whether or not Ebay has a rule against this stuff?

They have an explicit ban on 'catalogues' - the idea being that people were selling said 'catalogues' for $10, and then selling valuable equipment direct to buyer, hence avoiding ebays percentage-based fee on the high cost gear. ISTR that ebay's wording is quite sensible, in that collectible catalogues that have no present-day use *are* still allowed to be auctioned.
But this is really taking the piss. The only free empegs available are to thieves who manage to find one left in a car somewhere. AFAIK, noone outside (and possibly within) Empeg LTD ever legally obtained a free empeg. As such, this auction is clearly fraudulent.
I'd really like Rob to report this one to ebay and get the sucker arrested.

I would prefer that Rob and the boys spent what little RioCar time they seem to have getting 2.0 final out of the parking lot instead of chasing down scam artists on Ebay... Matter of personal preference, I guess.

He assume he meant Rob Schofield. I have no involvement with sales/support/ebay. In fact I'm not even on this BBS. Honest.

As a bonus I will also be sending a HUGE wholesale list as well as about 20 eBooks that may come in handy for starting your own business.
