What is the "V-Sign"?

In much of the world today, the thumbs up means, "O.K.", "Right On!", or "I like this movie, Gene... uh... Gene?"

That sounds like something off of something awful.

Unfortunately here in the US more and more people recognize the two-finger salute and respond with the one finger.
In those cases I just wave back with all fingers
