Looking for this tune... - 27/06/2003 08:24

Hi all !

I've been looking for this tune, but I don't know it's name or the title.
Difficult huh ? Let me explain a bit :

It was a modest hit 18-20 years ago. It featured John McEnroe playing a match of tennis against someone else. At a certain point the referee calls a ball out and McEnroe starts yelling at the referee in his typical fashion.

"The ball's in! Anyone could see that the call's in!"
"Chalkdust, anyone could see that there was chalkdust!"

The tracks ends with McEnroe being shot by the referee and saying "But I was only talking to myself !"

It's a stupid song really, but I got it inside my head now and I would really like to know the artist and title of it. I guess seeing McEnroe win that veteran's tournament last week triggered it!

Does anybody else remember this song ?

While you're at it, does anyone have a copy of 92 F by pop will eat itself? I've heard it again on TV and it wasn't the version that's on 16 different flavours of hell....

That's the version I have... what did you see it on?

I wonder if it was on some sort of K-tel "dance hits" compilation or something with a different version?

It's the same version as an old 12" (or is it ' ) that I used to own, which was copied onto quarter inch and then both subsequently lost. It was considerably more up-beat than the version I have. As for what program is was on, I honestly can't remember.

I wonder wether Hugo might step in at this point? I seem to remember he has a liking for PWEI (if the pictures of the empeg prototype are anything to go by )...

Damn! How did you find that so fast? I've searched with Google, Altavista, webcrawler and several other search engines for the past week.

Your Google skills are obiously much better than mine ! Thanks a lot for the link !

Edit : I've re-Googled one more time, and this time I found this link. How come I could'n find that then all of last week??? I swear I've already used the search topics which gave me that link earlier, except then no results were found. Google is really messing with my mind here!
