Bamboo.... how to look after?

Mum has just been given some of those bamboo stick things - just sticks with whisps of roots.... do these get put in water? Or soil? And if soil is it marshy soil or just occasional watering?

Ours lives in a small bit of fishtank gravel that has to be kept constantly submerged. It's tough to keep it wet all the time.

Careful - it can be as bad as kudzu.

Never forget kudzu. Don't go to sleep too close to it, either...

Us North Carolinians (OK, the rest of the Southeast US too, but we have the eponymous comic strip) know and love it.

I've heard that 2 goats per acre will control it...
