Broke MY new toy - 08/04/2004 21:08

After spending about 6 months, and well enough money I took my car up to Gateway Internation Raceway in St.louis to obtain my SCCA regional competition license for club racing. Here are a few before and after pictures.

Down the back straight at about 125mph

On the last session of the school I was going around the oval of the nascar turn doing about 110mph when my CV joint seized which caused my rearend to immediately come out at that point there wasnt much to do but double in and hope for the best. I ended of hitting the wall at about 90mph. Luckily I escape with no injuries.

The thumbs up approval

Some rear end damage

I did get my license which is good but the frame is trashed, so Im gonna have to pick up another shell and move everything over.

If anyone is curious the car is a 1994 Acura Integra Shell with
1998 Type-R motor
Custom Valved Bilstein Shocks mated to Ground control coilovers running 600lb/in eibach springs up front and 800lb/in the rear
6-point Kirk Racing Roll Cage
Corbeau Forza Seat with 5-pt harness
lots of other stuff but thats the important stuff

Well before the last session I noticed all the grease had been slung out of the boot and there was a tear in the boot itself. Upon inspection its was trashed.

And after such a nice job of making yourself an ITR that looked proper and not stupid....

BTW, are those anthracite SSR wheels? I've got a picture of mine on my E46 H&R BMW around here somewhere....
