Desktop sharing thread - 12/10/2004 17:19

Well, since a few people started sharing desktop screenshots in the other thread, might as well give it a thread of its own.

Icons on the desktop don't accumulate too much. I sort them to their proper place pretty quickly, since spring loaded folders and the 10.3 finder make it pretty simple to do.

Wallpaper being an integral part of a desktop, I've lately been interested in this guy's glass-object renderings. I also just started using a slightly modified version of this picture to be my wallpaper. Both of those I found from recent links on Blue's News.

I've got my background set to rotate daily from a folder of my favorite photos. Here's todays. At the bottom left is the tide chart for Ocean Beach that updates hourly (gotta know when it's good kiting out there, which reminds me I need to rig up a graphic for the winds).

Wow, Tony. Those images are amazing. I have the Windows logo one up right now. I don't care how people feel about Windows, that image is just beautiful.

For some reason, I think most of you wouldn't be caught dead with this desktop.

OK, here's my desktop. The picture I took looking south along the coastline between Monterey and Big Sur.

I had to scale it down and crapify it quite a bit to get it down below 200k to upload.

For some reason I feel compelled to share my messy desktop. Why is this? There is certainly nothing special about it. Oh well. Bombs away.

Re: Desktop sharing thread - 13/10/2004 16:06

I was going to share mine, but then I discovered that my cool nasa pic was no longer on my desktop and instead it is just a plain blue, apparently because the pic got deleted. I think it is a sign of how much I actually see the desktop that I didn't even notice until today.

I had Drempels as my background at home for a while, which is indeed very cool, but I removed it for much the same reasons.

an old screenshot of me playing sol.exe on a 16 processor windows box, we ended up getting rid of it, because the xeon cpu's sucked ass, and the memory bandwidth was tiny.

in the background is my favorite desktop app, xplanet.

Looks like you could use Ultramon and get that task bar stretched across the second screen.
