The only upside for us in the UK will hopefully be a massive backlash to this whole political correctness gone mad and we can get back to normal - being allowed to:
open doors for women without getting slapped for being sexist
defend ourselves in our own house
call a spade a spade, not a manual excavation device etc

It's not "coming to" this, but rather it's already there.
