Plug guts - 30/03/2005 08:49

okay i bought a new oil pressure gauge and need to know what kind of plug this is on the back of it. It has two external outs for two LEDs for oil pressure or temp. Now in pins 1 and 7 which are the outs there is no crimps to put a female pin in.

It is a 12 pin plug with pins about 2mm square and i need the female part of it so i can get a connection onto the output.

So anyone got any ideas as to what it is and where to look, or even has anyone got two spares hanging around down the back of the sofa.

also need to get macro working on the ixus

Looks like one of the zillion varieties of Molex connectors. Many electronic component stores stock them (eg. Frys).

That's almost certainly a molex 'mini-fit jr.' range connector. Farnell part number 151-871. The contacts are separate.

Failing that, it will be a Tyco 'mini universal mate-N-lock', farnell part number 133-670. Again, the contacts are separate.

The molex connector is from the same range as the tuner plug on the empeg dock. Check if it's the same.

A quick search of the maplin web site says no.
