While doing a random Google search for empeg stuff, I came across:

empeg (MKI) lauded in the OReilly "MP3: The Definitive Guide"

Sure, it's probably been posted long before, but it's fun to take a trip back to March 2000... and wonder WHY anyone would commit-to-print "current" consumer electronics. Sure, in a magazine, but in an OReilly book? Haha, not the point, just a silly link. Enjoy.

The writer could tell the empeg is timeless Hey there is still no replacement.

This line is funny With a 6 GB hard drive, space was a non-issue

I still hear that from people about current portable players no one gets the concept of not wanting to change out songs and always having your entire music collection with you.

Hard drive failures are now called the "No Spin Zone".

But make sure not to get too overly excited by hard drive vibrations...
