I've already got a taker (I believe)

If that falls through I'd be interested.

Schofiel's the taker so if you want to sort out divvying up the bits that's fine with me, I'll ship to 2 different locations (no charge)

Just realised I don't know if the IAudio does bookmarks

Re: Anbody want a dead karma - 12/01/2006 17:23

Frig, looks like it does per track bookmarks, not per playlist.

Shit, shit, double shit!

Anbody know of a player that does Karma style bookmarks?

Empegs not exactly portable is it? Can't listen to it if I decide to go to work by train...

Carbon's too small.

I'm pretty sure somebody has actually used a seal lead acid battery with their empeg and put it all into a carry bag...

Bearded foreign fellow on the underground with a big backpack? Hmmm...

Makes perfect sense apart from that though

Don't worry. You just need to make sure the phrase "This is perfectly safe" is written on the backpack in large yellow arabic characters, so it's easily visible

I still want to get some T-shirts printed up with the phrase "Random Arabic Characters" written on them in Arabic, and sell them to people going to the airport...

Heh. Maybe not! The person I mentioned took it on a plane as well so I'd really not recommend doing that

I guess it would be even worse with my Mk I install in the old military radio bag/case... (as seen with my Land Rover "outstall" at the Amersfort meet... uh... 2003?)

Looks good, portability taken to the extreme

That would indeed be 2003 (photo attached).

Tanstaafl had(has?) a mounting for his empeg on his bike. I thought the pictures were in the gallery, but I didn't see them.

Hmm... Let's see what happens when I try to bring something similar (but even more extreme) to the Cambridge meet. Maybe I can getr the award for "best install in Guantanamo Bay"?

Re: Anbody want a dead karma - 16/01/2006 12:42

Just loaded up my iAUDIO, it truncates file names, can't upload playlists (you build the playlist off it's internal HD) and worst of all the little bleeder won't play my ogg files.

Arrgh!

Re: Anbody want a dead karma - 17/01/2006 12:52

If you want, I can give you a 1.8" HDD as used in the Karma... we have quite a few here! They were also used on the Sapphire project, so these have never seen the inside of a Karma.

Obviously, I can't guarantee they'd work forever, but it sounds like it might be less pain than an iAudio player

If you're interested, PM me.
