ATI X800

ATI X800 - 30/01/2006 17:41

Does anyone know whether the ATI X800 Pro will support 2500x1600 resolution. The monitor needs dual DVI. ATI's site shows a max resolution of 2048x1536 @ 85Hz. Typically a lot of recent cards quote that as a VGA max resolution but support 2500x1600 digital only.

Thanks in advance.

The standard PC X800 definitely doesn't support Dual Link DVI (the resolution/refresh combination you posted is the maximum analog resolution). The Mac X800 does however, as does the Mac/PC (Hybrid) 9600 Pro. Upward from there (but still in the consumer space) you'd be looking at newer products in the X1xxx series for that feature. Also keep in mind you're looking specifically for Dual Link DVI support. That only needs one port, whether or not the card supports Dual DVI (which is two ports for two monitors and not the same thing).

That is what we are seeing in the Catalyst Control Center. The monitor shows up as Single DVI with a max resolution of 1280x800. Looking at the X1900. We think that should work.
