The Secret Life of Machines - 14/08/2006 13:16

I don't know if anybody else ever saw this series when it was originally shown years and years ago on UK TV. It was a series of TV programs from the late 80s and early 90s about how various machines worked and they'd do various experiments to show you the inner workings.

I found the presenter/writer's site recently and you can download them for free. One of the author's other sites is pretty interesting as well if you're bored one day.

Wonderful. Following that link lead me, in the end, to:

"In 1976, Wilf got us the job of making 400 pyrotechnics sheep and pigs for the Floyd’s animals tour..."

Looks like a nifty show.
I've got Azureas gathering up the torrents now, but I haven't gotten the hang of the whole torrent scene yet- I can download but my upload speed is always limited... I don't understand the port forwarding stuff- even after having read pages about it. I guess I haven't read the right pages.

don't try and uinderstand it, just google for a configuration just like yours and copy the config. I've been a senior network admin most of my life and I think some combinations of Azureus, personal firewall, router and broadband router don't make sense!

Thank you.

I've had an auto-record TiVo wishlist for this for a few years and it has never snagged anything.

I can't see any torrent links there... am I missing something? I missed that series, but saw the trailers for it several times

It's sort of buried under a few pages of clicking.

That is a great show I watched them when I was in high school they were on the Discovery channel. I got them from a torrent a while ago that Tim had linked on his site looks like a different site now.

If you haven't seen the show get it for sure and be sure to watch the TV episode then ending is great.

He should make some more episodes.

I am really enjoying watching these shows!

Anyone know more about the theme music?
It seems like a familar jazz tune but with some reggae in the background.

Ah! Beautiful! Thanks! (I should've looked for that!)

The origins are Take Five by Dave Brubek.

Nice.

edit:
Once again wikipedia amazes me!

A better rip that has been encoded in a resolution and file format suitable for an iPhone/iPod Touch.
