How do I change video resolution settings in Safe Mode? - 01/02/2007 01:14

I've got plasma tv in my living room that I want to use as a monitor for one of my computers. I've got it connected with VGA. Unfortunately, my last video setting is one that the plasma doesn't support, so when it gets to Windows, I get a nice little message from Pioneer on my screen. Right now I'm running in Safe Mode at 800x600 and it looks great. Problem is I'm running in Safe Mode. If I change the video resolution here, it doesn't affect the video settings in normal mode.

I have an ATI video card and it's control center program doesn't want to load either. It acts as if I don't even have an ATI card connected. I'm pretty sure this is also because I'm running in safe mode since it worked just fine before.

So, how do I, in Safe Mode, change the normal mode video resolution. I realize I can just connect a monitor and adjust but I havn't got a monitor handy. I would have to drive all over the place to borrow one and take it back and thats a bit of a pain.

Thanks for any assistance!

Press F8 during the startup, and select "Enable VGA Mode". Then start windows normally. It should knock the resolution down to 640x480.
