I hate this:
Quote:
The story, which describes a world in which machines have taken over, led to the author being dismissed as a science fiction writer.

Kurt Vonnegut was always a science-fiction writer. But since some bigwigs thought it was worth reading anyway, he gets reclassified as "literature". I hate it that science-fiction is ghetto literature when it is, more often than not, far more compelling and literate than comparable non-genre fare.

That said, the loss of Kurt is sad news and a loss for all of us. Very, very sad that he lost his life to brain injury. I'm sure the loss of his faculties would be what would have scared him the most. At least those injuries were short-lived.

This guy was pretty much the epitome of "cool."

Slaughterhouse 5 was his most famous piece. It made for an (astonishingly) good film, too.

Are we totally, absolutely sure he's not alive? I just think it'd be silly to accept his death without checking Dresden for his younger self first.

So it goes.

That's way beyond the typical misdirection that Fox is famous for. That's just plain harsh.

Meh. I care about what Fox thinks just about as much as I care what David Duke thinks. <shrug>

I don't watch any Fox, but I had the impression that their news was mostly smoke and mirrors- lots of fluff.
I never thought it would include outright character attacks.
