Fade to black

Fade to black - 10/08/2007 14:22

Some of you know that I run a lighting rig as a hobby, which recently had started to get pretty good (lasers, visuals, pyro, integrated control etc). Unfortunately I no longer have said lighting rig as some bunch of lowlife nicked the whole lot. My van was recovered from the bottom of a river and they'd even nicked the bonnet! Probably pikies, and probably already flogged fifteen grand of equipment for a few hundred quid, but if by chance any of you are in the industry or know someone who is, please pass on my missing equipment list just on the off chance.

Wow. That really sucks. Was it insured?

Wow. I am so sorry.

I've been the victim of theft before, but not on that kind of scale. Wow. You must feel just absolutely awful right now. My deepest sympathies.

Unfortunately not. We bought liability and cover for rented equipment for the last party and I was on the verge of clicking Buy for equipment cover, but it was the wrong side of payday and it's not cheap to insure kit that's going to be on the road. Of course losing all the kit is a lot less cheap.

Attached is what they did to my van - I only just bought the damn thing *sigh*

I know a couple of lampies (admittedly in Manchester), will let them know.

Really sorry to hear that Rob, it was a mighty impressive rig

What you need is to come and get pissed with us all and we'll all buy you a pint, that should make you feel a bit better

Cheers

Cris.

Hey Rob, I really enjoyed some of that stuff at last years meet & really sad to hear that its gone. If I had my way, thieves would lose their fingers.

Re: Fade to black - 16/08/2007 17:34

Thanks for all the comments, I'm just going to have to come into some unexpected money and buy an even better system.

The good news is that the insurers have agreed to pay out what I paid for the van. I expected them to quibble about it more than they did. Perhaps they didn't want me to pull my more lucrative car policy from them!
