Your favorite songs to "watch" - 07/11/2007 00:39

Which are your favorite songs to... watch? By that I mean, which songs elicit the most impressive visuals from the empeg? Here are a few off the top of my head; what do you like.

"La Femme D Argent" by Air on Moon Safari
using Spectrokit 128 or Spectrometer 128
Its full spectrum sine sweeps prove just how accurate the spectrometer visuals are.

"Four Elements" by Brazz Tree on Quest
using Grampian or Hyercian
The solo female voice, layered over itself in harmony, suspends and controls the typical fleeting globs to reveal these visuals' intricacies.

Any jazz piece with a solo brass instrument
using Spectrokit 128 or Spectrometer 128
You can actually SEE the overtones!! At least I think so.

i could swear there is a really old thread on this topic from a few years ago.

I like seeing the filter sweeps on the synthesizer parts on "ray of light" with the spectrum analyzer visuals.

From the post subject, I assumed that we were talking about music videos.

Ok, back to business.

Equation by Aphex Twin is pretty cool if watch it on a spectrograph as it draws a face.
