A quick bump.

I've PM'ed several Northern California BBS members that I know, but haven't heard a peep back.
I guess everyone's having a fun-filled summer!

Not to worry, Andy- we'll get something together when you get here.

Don't worry, even if it just ends up being the three of us it should be good. Because we've got a couple of days in SF we'd probably like to make it there, which should be okay for you shouldn't it?

We were thinking of going to the Stinking Rose, maybe not as great as the curry place we took you to in Leeds, but hey! I'm a real garlic fan so it sounds perfect.

The only night we've got something planned for is the Sunday (7th) when we head off to Alcatraz for the evening.

The Stinking Rose was incredibly excellent when I was there, years ago. Hopefully things haven't changed since then!

We stopped off at the outlets in Gilroy (garlic city), tried a garlic jelly bean at the Jelly Belly shop. It was.... interesting!

Okay we'll set a date of the 6th (Saturday), we're flying in that morning from NY. How are you fixed for that night Stew?

The evening of the 6th is fine with me!

How is your transportation? Need a lift?

You'll be sleepy.. (3hrs of fresh jet lag)

We'll have a car, but the restaurant is only 0.9 miles away from the hotel, so we could probably walk it.

Probably have a snooze on the plane, if not plenty of caffeine should do the trick.

We've made it to New York, currently sitting in our tiny hotel room trying not to fall asleep!

Extended holiday I think. Although when Hugo mentioned it I assumed he was being courted by Apple.

That was a lot of fun!
The garlic was fun, too, but a bit overwhelming.

At the moment of that particular photo, I was engaged in being awestruck by Gilroy garlic ice-cream; more generally, judging by what's on my camera's memory card, I was engaged in being awestruck by Sequoia sempervirens; but really I was on my way to catch up with some old friends in New Zealand, and taking advantage of the stopover to catch up with some further old friends. I only got back home today.

And while it would be quite flattering to be courted by Apple, I'm sure that the Apple employees sitting each side of me in that photo both know that there wouldn't be any point, as I wouldn't be up for moving to California...
