Reading Wikipedia in the dark and eye relief - 03/02/2009 11:05

I read Wikipedia a lot, often at night. This has been terrible for my eyes, even with the brightness turned down on my screen.

So I created nitewiki. It basically inverts all colors, allowing me to read wikipedia in the dark without killing my eyes.

I thought I'd share it here.

You know you can apply a "skin" to Wikipedia, right?

Yep. I only saw the non-custom skins before I made this, all of which were based on a white background. I have since seen the list of custom skins, of which there's at least one with a dark background that looks pretty well done.

I suppose it would have been easier for me to just change skins. Oh, well... It was a fun, simple project.

Great idea, but...

No offense, but that yellow hurts my eyes much more than the standard Wikipedia page would. Are you a Steelers fan or something? smile

Ah, makes sense. Doesn't appeal to me, but color scheme preferences vary wildly smile
