riocar.org domain... - 06/03/2009 03:08

Hey Guys...
Long time no chat. Good to see there is still lots of activity in the threads. As I skim through recent topics, I'm remind of what a awesome group of people hang here.

So the riocar.org domain is up for renewal, but given these trying times I'm looking to cut every corner I can. I don't wanna see just fall to the wayside. Would any one like to pipe up and assume transfer ownership of the domain? I believe renewal is scheduled for 3/10. Please PM me if you're willing and we can figure out how to hand it off.

Off to figure out how to get jEmplode to reliably pull files off/on my players...for some reason when I move content off my Karma or my empeg, about 50% of the files end up 0 bytes!?! mad Is it time for spinrite?

All the best,
Tim

Drakino would be the logical choice to assume ownership of it. I'd be happy to chip in a few bucks to defray the costs.

I've PM'ed Tim about it. Should be easy enough to lump in with the yearly costs on the board.

Same as what Tony said on both points.

Tom, can I/we once again offer to pass the hat around to offset some of the costs of running the board? We appreciate all your hard work, and I understand what may be your reluctance to take money for something you don't want to be "paid for". However, I think I speak for most of us when I say we'd be more than happy to offset your expenses and wouldn't expect anything in return.

I would expect the board to continue running....

The costs aren't all that much, for me they mostly blend into the background. Vito has enough users subscribing monthly on the servers (including myself) that the boards should still have a home for a while.

Domains are cheep, I just have a handful I tend to renew in 2 year chunks. Riocar.org will probably add $18 to that every 2 years, so not a big deal to me.
