Colima is about 200 KM away from me, but the eruptions are visible from my deck. (see photo) There is a mountain range between us.
We tend to ignore it, glance over and say "Well, there goes Colima again." No big deal.

I was in Tapalpa for this and had a great view of the volcano from the cabin I was staying in. The weird thing is that the plume of smoke and ash doesn't really dissipate. It just stays there in the sky looking like that for hours.
